The ever-present Air Max 90 is enjoying the benefits of coming off a celebratory year, with the anatomically-inspired silhouette seeing a rebirth of sorts within the sneakershpere. Riding its refound wave of popularity into 2021, we’ve already seen some fresh new takes on the trainer, with this next-up release offering joining other lightning-Swooshed makes as part of an impending Heavy Metal-inspired collection.
Arriving with the same overarching theme seen on the pack’s Blazer Low and Air Max Plus, the pair presents in greyscale with pops of “Aquamarine” and “Lime Glow”. And while this release is more reminiscent of a couple of original arrangements, its use of new textures, toolings, and the aforementioned Swoosh gives the pair its own unique flair. Here we see mesh uppers and tongues woven into a spongey weave, while its vamp and mudguard overlays complement the open weave with a heavily pebbled finish. Electrified Checks of Aquamarine arrive in a sleek nylon, while standard finishes to the eyelets, profile brand panels, rear overlays, and Air cassettes all arrive in a vibrant Lime Glow hue. Completing the design is the collection’s disjointed Swoosh insoles, and tour-like taping down the length of the tongue.
A release date for this women’s-exclusive Air Max 95 is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks.
