Although we’re still waiting on a handful of previously-previewed releases like the highly-anticipated “Oreo” and “Tie-Dye” colorways, new options of Nike’s self-lacing hoops sneaker continue to appear. This time it surfaces in an alternate “Black Air Mag” colorway that hams up the original self-lacer from Back to the Future II.
Naturally, the self-lacing lineage is no stranger to the famous thematic, with the original Adapt BB adopting the Air Mag’s grey and teal tones back in 2019. For the sophomore sneaker, Nike looks to invert the upper to black, whilst keeping the accentuations true to the original. Here you’ll find icy blue outsole, teal scribble on the midsole, and forefoot ankle lights akin to the originals designed by Tinker Hatfield back circa 1988-89. Completing the homage design is a set of striking white midfoot Swooshes, white liners, and a heat map-like finish on the outsole’s forefoot.
