Just Dropped // Nike Air Force 1 Crater “Coconut Milk”

The Air Force 1 has possibly surpassed the Space Hippie lineage in Nike’s pursuit to carry the Pinwheel project further. Surfacing in countless reimagined, recycled designs over the past 18 months, the broadly-titled Air Force 1 Crater has just appeared in another new arrangement, this one boasting the titular cushioning underfoot, two-tone sail Flyleather uppers, and very creative use of recycled materials for the pair’s branding embellishments.

The upper relies on a subtle shift in sail tones to create a base that’s a little slicker than your average. These uppers forge cut-out Swoosh panels which are then lined with mesh and filled with the off-cuts that result in protruding Checks in distinct patterns. But it’s not just the Swooshes that receive an overhaul, with the heel branding swapped out for the Move to Zero’s Pinwheel motif, seen here in straight-up Grind Rubber to complete the top half. Underfoot, you’ll find a blue-tinted Crater Foam sole unit capped with multi-color Grind Rubber at the toe and tail to complete the design.
