Nike’s sustainable Crater Foam is popping up on just about everything of late, the Air Force 1 included. But whilst the other Uptowns have surfaced in relatively traditional constructions, this ladies-exclusive Air Force 1 Crater Foam throws the design manual out the window, delivering one of the most unique takes on the AF1 we’ve seen this year.
It’s the latest in a long line of recycled footwear from Nike, headlined “Space Hippe” lineage and the Air Jordan 1 Zoom, and like those, this pair demands your attention. The signature blue-tinted Crater Foam midsole and grind-rubber capped outsoles is by far the most unique tweak we’ve seen on the Uptowns rarely-touched sole unit, whilst uppers arrive in a completely new build. Layering is gone, with sections merely stitched together with zig-zag stitching. Toes feature a stain glass-like fabric (as seen on the VaporMax 2020 tongue), whilst tongues, mid, rear, and eyelet panels all arrive in a smooth grey finish. Striking Barely Volt Swooshes and rear overlays provide the pair with it’s the most popping features, and the pair is complete with the line’s signature recycled insoles.
Check out the official photos below, and look for this women’s-exclusive Air Force 1 Crater Foam to release in the coming weeks at select retailers and Nike.comfor an expected $110.
In other Uptown news, Cactus Plant Flea Market will be dropping a duo of Air Force 1s this Fall.
