Nike’s Move to Zero initiative has led their footwear designers to explore some unique avenues of inspiration, from the well-documented Space Hippie lineage to the incorporation of Grind Rubber to their releases. Sometimes, we even get a complete textile overhaul, like this crochet-constructed Nike Air Force 1 “Hemp” that doesn’t distance itself too far from grandma’s epic tea cozy collection.
In place of the silhouette’s signature leather upper, this pair presents with a completely knitted upper, which each panel presents in its own unique pigment. Toe boxes and quarters sit pretty in bright blues, whilst green and pastel volt work their way into the midfoot. The upper is then capped at the toe and tail in rich oranges and is complimented by off-white hues around the horn — including the Grind Rubber-flecked sole unit. The pair is completed by Hemp-branded tongue tags, and Nike’s now-signature volt insoles complete with the Move to Zero Pinwheel motif.
A release date for this new Air Force 1 Low “Hemp” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks in full-family sizing.
