After a brief three-year hiatus, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid has come into the back-end of 2021 with gusto, delivering classics like the Flax and Gool Grey (NYC) colorways, with still many more to come, including the OFF-WHITE duo devised by the late Virgil Abloh. Before we get those, though, Nike will be adding two iterations into the epic “Athletic Club” collection, a series that has already shown significant love to the silhouette with low-tops already revealed in five colorways.
For the Mids, we’ve only got two (so far) the mantra is much the same, with retro tongue, heel, and insole branding, “AIR FORCE 1” wordmarks (here on the strap), and sweatsuit-grey insole and liners. Interestingly, the Air Force 1 Mid doesn’t opt for the heritage suede look, instead opting for a construction entirely of leather, however, it does include an overclocked stitched Swoosh — a finish oft seen in conjunction with suede. This colorway, the first of two to surface, features a classic white leather base with red heels, grey heel overlays, Swooshes, and straps, with dual-layered eyestays and red midsole detail completing the design.
