Readying for its 40th anniversary in 2022, Bruce Kilgore’s Air Force 1 is searching far and wide for inspiration — this next release even crossing the pond to show some love to London Town.
Nike Air Force 1 Mid “London” is the latest sneaker to honor the English capital, and second in a series of releases that nods famous cities and their street signs. The first, Paris, was delivered in a similar vein, but this London release ups the ante through perforated, crinkled leathers, and bold burgundy casing. It once again features the city’s phone code on the forefoot (020) and serves a direct nod to the city’s street signs (pictured below) on both the special dubraes and insole detailing. The pair is also fitted with mesh tongues, bold burgundy leather straps, and bright whites at the Swoosh overlays, tongue tags, and heel panels to complete the design.
