Readying for its 40th anniversary in 2022, Bruce Kilgore’s Air Force 1 is searching far and wide for inspiration — this next release even crossing the pond to show some love to the City of Love.
Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Paris” is the latest sneaker to honor the French capital, this time looking to the city’s sweeping stone buildings and their iconic green-trimmed street signs — and there’s even a subtle nod to The Lourve, too. Anchored in creamy tumbled leather, the pair the presents pollen leathers in a smooth finish. Navy Swooshes and heel overlays returned to a tumbled effect, with the latter joining the tongue tag in sporting green trim as a direct nod to the iconic Parisian street signs.
There’s a further nod to the decorative signs, with dubraes at the forefoot mimicking the style of the plates, whilst an embroidered 75 at the forefoot nods the city’s zip code surrounds. In fact, the pairs yellow and blue scheme can also point back to the gallery’s iconic Metropolitan train signs seen around the city. Lastly, there’s a subtle acknowledgment to the world-renowned Lourve museum, with its triangular shape perforating the toe box.
