The Nike Air Force 1 “NAI-KE” Appears in Flax for Fall

Over thirty years ago, Nike tested a series of Swooshless trainers through one of their Chinese factories, with a solitary line strike taking its place. Naturally, Nike went back to their iconic trademark for those shoes, but the samples live on in sneaker folklore as one of the most intriguing episodes from Nike. Though the legendary “The One Line” run of samples is not often directly honored by the brand, the brand has shown big love to the series in recent times, with several “NAI-KE” Air Force 1 colorways coming to light that remembers the project with fond memories. Its next ditches the recently-seen sashiko duds in favor of a seasonal flax suede, complete with tonal surrounds and traditional woven details.

Dressed from toe to tail in shaggy suede, the pair looks to rich wheat hues for its bulk, with browns and creams in support. The latter sits along the midsoles in a soft suede coating, while browns at the sole, liner, and tongue work in two tones. Its rustic approach automatically gives the pair a traditional worn-in feel, though the structure of the pair stays strong. Midpanels are dressed in sashiko-like stitchwork to further the Eastern connection, while Nai-Ke branding in the back cements the pair’s legacy.
