Nike is doing the most with the Air Force 1 for its 40th anniversary, from collaborations with Drake, Louis Vuitton, and the just-revealed two-pack fro WHO DECIDES WAR. But it’s not all about the link-ups, with the brand’s in-line releases putting on its strongest showing in years — if not this century. The next to do so is this special-edition Air Force 1 “Overbranded“ which blends a classic white construct with a collection of contemporary finishes.
Anchored by a smooth and lightly-tumbled white leather upper, the pair then works in a handful of over-the-top branding efforts, including pink suede Swooshes and rear overlays embedded with Nike Trademark and select Swoosh brandmarks, and a special mix-and-match insole motif that borrows elements from a series of Niek logos past. there’s also an added forefoot mini Swoosh in tonal white thread, but the biggest talking point — both figuratively and literally — is the added jelly rubber sole unit in translucent peach pink that completes the design.
While an official release date for this all-new Nike Air Force 1 “Overbranded” has yet to be revealed, the surfacing of Nike.com imagery would suggest that a release is imminent.
