Somehow, Nike never seems to run out of ideas for its iconic Air Force 1. Appearing in something old, something new, something borrowed — and even blue — on almost a daily basis, the silhouette has shown no signs of fatigue in recent years — in fact, you can expect Bruce Kilgore’s sneaker to steam through 2022 for its 40th anniversary with gusto. The newest take on the silhouette — the Air Force 1 React — is somewhat of a strange one, as it enlists a similar inside-out aesthetic to that seen on this recently-revealed Air Jordan 1, but also employs a distinct split at the midfoot that separates a more traditional front half with a contemporary rear. Now, after appearing in a handful of low-cuts, the silhouette’s first Mid has appeared: the Nike Air Force 1 React Mid “Black Neon”

Here we see a distinct shift between the front and back ends, with the former staying true to both design and tech, before a futuristic feel sweeps the entire back end. Leading that charge is the visible React foam at the heel, but its mid and quarter panels of organic shapes, smaller Swooshes, and misplaced straps give the pair it’s most modern tweaks. Material migrates from classic leathers to lightweight ripstop, neoprene, and woven twill. And as for the colors? The pair is also split into tow sections; classic white and sail up front, with the back-end opting for neon neoprenes, sail ripstop, and pops of black.

At this stage, there are no release details provided for the debut Air Force 1 React Mid “Black Neon”, but you should expect more news to filter through soon — so be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates. Until then, grab a first and official look at the pair here below.
