Though it’s being celebrated in many ways for its 40th anniversary, the Nike Air Force 1 should first and foremost honor its incredibly versatile design lines; Thanks, Bruce Kilgore. The pair’s simple design and multi-panel production enable the silhouette to be blocked in seemingly endless ways, and in such has continued to give the silhouette new life, year after year — so it’s something worth celebrating. And this new Nike Air Force 1 does just that by tacking on reflective piping to the panels to highlight Kilgore’s incredible craft.
The fairly-simple release rocks out in smooth black leather atop a bright white midsole. There’s nothing untoward about it; it’s a straight-up staple. Ther only different? The Swoosh has stuck on silver piping around the overlays that send a flash of bright reflection under a light. Outsidee of that, in the daylight, it offers an extra layer of emphasis to the design in a Joshua Vides-kinda way.
While an official release date for this all-new reflective-popped Air Force 1 has yet to be revealed, the surfacing of Nike.com imagery would suggest that a release is imminent.
