Nike Celebrates Brand Heritage on this Air Max 270 React

In case you didn’t know, Nike has been through a whole lot of changes over the years — and we’re not just talking about its tech, although this Air Max 270 React is a prime example of that. What we’re referring to is the brand image, from its naming to its logo — it wasn’t always as how you see the brand today. If you’ve read Phil Knight’s Shoe Dog, you’ll know the brand went from Blue Ribbon Sports, before being named Nike, the Goddess of Victory in Greek Mythology (but they were also tossing up Dimension Six and Falcon). Their Swoosh logo, too, went through rounds and rounds (and rounds) of changes. Now, both the change in tech and the change in Swoosh is celebrated on this wild Air Max 270 React “Brand Heritage”

The pair, which arrives in a warm cream base, is overlayed by multiple renditions of the now-infamous Swoosh. Thicker, rounder, elongated version all rest atop the current-day depiction in blue, red, yellow and minty green respectively. those colors pop up again on the remaining overlays, sock liner, and tongue detail, with bold black laces and pulls, and a classic gum rubber outsole completing the design — but there is one more message from Nike that they want to remind you of: that they named their brand after a woman. A reminder of equality, perhaps? A reminder that the brand itself needs, too, after recent gender discrimination lawsuits caused a PR disaster for the Swoosh.

As for the release of these Air Max 270 React “Brand Heritage” is still to be announced, so. keep your eyes locked on our dedicated Nike Release Dates Calendar for updates on the drop — which is expected to roll out at select Swoosh stockist and on over the coming weeks.
