With still a long, long way to go in its 30th anniversary year, Nike won’t yet be figuratively putting a cork in the Air Max 90 releases — but they will be doing so on a literal level (for a second time!). Joining the previously-previewed Air Max 90 “Cork” that come in tonal bones and beiges, comes Canadian Tuxedo-like double-denim drop.
Aside from the pair’s color palette, the pair is a one-for-one construction, with nappy suede overlays, canvas uppers, and supple leathers all contributing to the pair’s heightened aesthetic. It’s also accompanied by fine details like corked insoles scribed with Tom Sachs-like “Just Do It” branding, and outsole reminiscent of the forthcoming, fully-upcycled Space Hippie line. As for the colors, the canvas uppers arrive washed like the underside of navy denim, perfectly complementing the dark blue suede and leather overlays. The latter comes stitched with jean seam-like contrasted stitching, while crips white laces, Swooshes, and midsoles complete the Canadian Tuxedo aesthetic.
There’s currently no official release date locked in for this news Air Max 90, but you should be expecting it to arrive at select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com shortly.
