Inspiration for the Air Max 90 has been wide and varied, but often the Beaverton Brand has looked towards its own storied history for inspiration — like this inverted Infrared release, and this upcoming “Safari” option. For their next release, Nike has returned to a staple of its Basketball division circa 2010, with Air Max 90 “Miami Nights” taking on a familiar South Beach aestetic.
Here, black mesh, nubuck and leahter makes up most of the construction, while strategically placed pops of pink and teal work with subtle strikes of grey (on the suede Swooshes) and crisp whites (midsoles) for an undeniable SoBe correlation. And if that wasn’t enough, they’ve even brushed the teal green insoles with graphic palm tree silhouettes. Insoles arrive in New Green and hot pink, while the latter returns again on the tongue and heel branding, as well as the insoles, to complete the design.
