The Nike Air Max 90 “Mr. Fantastic” Returns in 2027

Nike’s Fantastic Four revival is becoming harder to ignore.

After a variant of the “Invisible Woman” Air Force 1 surfaced in 2025, the story is expected to continue into 2027 with the return of the Air Foamposite Pro “Dr. Doom,” the Air Max 95 “Human Torch,” and now, the Nike Air Max 90 “Mr. Fantastic.”

Originally released in 2006 as part of Nike’s Marvel-inspired “Fantastic Four” Pack, the Air Max 90 “Mr. Fantastic” is expected to return in Summer 2027. The release brings back the Reed Richards-inspired colorway, dressed in the blue-and-white palette tied to Marvel’s First Family.

The pair keeps to its original look with a Harbor Blue upper, matching overlays, and a white Swoosh running through the profile. More white appears on the laces, lining, and midsole, while darker blue accents hit the eyestays, heel, and outsole to finish the look.

With the “Dr. Doom” Foamposite Pro and “Human Torch” Air Max 95 also expected back in 2027, Nike will have effectively brought the Fantastic Four set back into focus. It may be a little disjointed in terms of timing and execution, but for longtime collectors, the pieces are finally coming together.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Mr. Fantastic” is expected to release in Summer 2027 through select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com. A retail price of $155 has been reported.
