Nike’s focus on sustainability has noticeably gone up a few gears in 2020 with the overarching Move to Zero campaign hosting a bevy of earth-friendly products crafted for the betterment of the Earth. Headlining the push for 2020 is the brand’s audacious Space Hippie lineage, but notable efforts from the brand’s NRG department — in particular, the Nike Dunk Low “Lemon Wash”— has helped the movement in leaps and bounds. Now, joining the quality-constructed Air Max 1 and the just-previewed Air Max 95s for Fall comes the line’s third effort on this recycled Air Max 95 NRG “Court Purple”
Though the titular color is used sparingly across the white-and-grey-based release, its position at the heel, tongue liner, and outsole —along with the striking red Swoosh and vamp overlays — provided the pair’s biggest pop. The overlay’s recycled yarn also takes on a purple tint, albeit slight, giving the pair a cooling feel when mixed with the surrounding whites. Small inclusions of Electric Green at the vamp and akle branding keep things consistent with the pack’s overarching theme, and the pair is complete with Court Purple-colored Air supports, and NRG’s recyclable neon insoles.
