The Texas Longhorns have been producing top-tier hoopers for decades. The southern basketball factory has given the league young guns in the making like Jarret Allen and Myles Turner, as well as some well-established veterans like PJ Tucker, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tristian Thomspon, and Kevin Durant. And, although it is often celebrated for its basketball prowess, the college (and its iconic sail and orange colors) rarely makes its way into the footwear conversation. Of course, we’ve seen a few Nike KD Longhorns colorways, as well a handful of PEs from PJ Tucker, but its aesthetic has never really played a prevalent part in the broad scope of sneakers. So on the rare occasion that we do get a Longhorns-like release, hardcore Texan fans jump on it quickly — and we’ve got a feeling that this new Air Max 90 “Texas Longhorns” won’t last too long on the shelf.

The release itself is a simple one, with creamy sail mesh and leather making up the bulk of the release, with neutral suedes mudguards and select hits of muted orange at the Swoosh, tongue branding, and heel overlay adding that Texan charm. A simple black and sail sole unit underfoot caps off the pair’s minimal color blocking.

A release date for this all-new Air Max 90 “Texas Longhorns” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
