Nike, Inc. is busy with with a number of special anniversaries this year–including the Air Max 95's 30th birthday. Last summer, rumors began circulating that the silhouette's milestone would feature a return to its original "Big Bubble," which the brand confirmed via a SNKRS Showcase in mid-December 2024.
Ahead of the model's OG 'Neon' retro, a style for Big Kids recently appeared in a 'Cool Grey' makeup and with bigger Air Max units than usual. As pointed out by Sneaker News, the newly-surfaced offering features a different seam across its visible Air unit at the heel. The detail might not be notable right away, but it's an important touch to Sergio Lozano's 30-year-old design. Shades of grey divvy up the nature-inspired upper, leaving branding and the "Big Bubble" to revel in cool blue contrast.
One thing that's missing on the Youth offering that's set to appear on Adult sizes of the next 'Neon' Air Max 95 is figures on the outsole referencing each Air unit's PSI level. Retros still don't promise the OG's 25 PSI, but their presentation is as close as the Swoosh has gotten to Lozano's initial vision since 1995.
A Nike.com and wide retailer launch date hasn't been disclosed by the brand, but that's expected to change as May inches closer. The Big Kids' Air Max 95 is typically priced at $145, although the 'Big Bubble' edition may fetch a higher price tag.
