The Nike Air Max 97 Boasts a New Royal, Black and Gold Build

Air Max season is nigh, and as is always the case in the early months of each year, we begin to see a sizeable collection of unveilings in anticipation of the annual March celebration of Air. The next is a striking new Air Max 97 colorway that ushers in elegant royal blue and gold against a sea of bold blacks.

With uppers of royal, tongues of black, and overlays of each, the pair is perfectly balanced up top, all the way down to the solid black leather mudguards and bright blue mid-panel mesh. The latter, along with the tongue are rear pull, is trimmed with decadent gold thread. The undercarriage introduced pops of white, with Air supports and outsole detail delivered in the contrasting hue; The midsole and outsole tread opt for a traditional black finish.
