Winterized Air Max 97 Gears-Up in Grey

As we move slowly but surely into Autumn and Winter, Nike is preparing us for the treacherous weather ahead. Now the second colorway for the silhouette — as well as the accompanying three-piece collection of Air Max 90s — this Air Max 97 is the latest semi-winterized effort from the Swoosh, and what better way to do up a sneaker for the overcast and rainy days than a completely greyscale effort.

Here, the sneaker’s classic construction of mesh and leather is swapped out for grey ripstop and hardened, textured overlays, the latter of which wraps the lower half in tonal grey hues. Above the guard, you’ll find laces, liners, pulls, and ripstop tongues take on a jet black finish, as too do the uppermost overlays finished in 3M reflective. As we head further south, you’ll spot dual Swoosh logos on the lateral side, a smokey grey midsole and Air support combo beneath, and a two-tone black and grey rubber outsole to complete the design.
