Though it has officially closed the chapter on its 25th-anniversary celebration, the Nike Air Max 97 still has a few straggling releases to complete the novel. The newest to appear is one perfect fit for the current climate, given its jet-black twill, brown suede, and heavily-tumbled stone grey leathers that scream Fall/Winter wear.
Ditching a traditional mesh upper, this release looks to heavy-duty cotton twill for its base, with tonal black reflective overlays and sock liners to match. The pair is livened up in the middle, with a peep of light tan suede and thick — almost elephant skin-like — leather mudguards. All of this rests atop a sail-tinted midsole and black rubber outsole. The latter is struck with a flash of white to marry up to the tongue’s reflective overlay to complete the design.
