Though Nike’s themed collections often take influence from their branding (think “Since ’82” or “Multi-Swoosh” series), they do, on occasion, venture outside of their backyard. Their new “Moving Company” collection is one such series, with inspiration drawn from retro removalists, their traditional graphics, and even protective moving blankets, making it one of the most unique collections in recent memory. Now, after surfacing in several options of the Air Force 1, the pack’s first Air Max has been unveiled, with official Nike.com imagery of the Air Max 97 “Moving Company” coming to light today.
Like the aforementioned Air Force 1s, this release also receives blanket finishes like special graphic insoles that feature logos reminiscent of this found on the sides of old-school trucks, with the snail/Swoosh motif the main feature. Also sighted are special embroidered canvas uppers that aim to mimic protective blankets used by removalists to cover fragile items. Unlike the others, this pair is void of toggle lace systems, and ushers in a new color combination of tans, whites, and greens through the upper/overlays, sole units, and tongue detail, respectively.
