OG Air Max 97 “Royal Neon” Returns in 2022

Air Max 97 options are appearing thick and fast of late, all of which are adding to an epic portfolio for the sneaker’s 25th Anniversary in 2022. Though we’ve seen plenty of pairs previewed, none have been of original origin — until now. Yes, we can now confirm the first of many OG colorways to grace us in 2022, with the return of the Nike Air Max 97 “Royal Neon” (Atlantic Blue) set for early next year.

Last seen in 2017 for its 20th anniversary, the OG Nike Air Max 97 “Royal Neon” has been confirmed by our sources to return in 2022 alongside other original classics, including the most famous “Silver Bullet” color scheme. Obviously, the latter will overshadow this oft-overlooked gem, but it will be an absolute must for any serious Air Max collector. Though we don’t yet have visuals on the pair, you can expect it to arrive in much the same form as it did five years prior, with silver mesh uppers, synthetic nubuck overlays of blue, and Voltage Yellow accents at the Swoosh and Air supports.
