Nike’s upcoming “Athletic Club” collectionwon’t be the only fictional footwear pack on the way, with a secondary Air Max-specific pack that honors its running roots. The self-proclaimed “Air Max Running Club” collection has already revealed itself in countless options of the Air Max 95, Air Max Plus, and Air Max 90 — and now it’s time for Christian Tresser’s Air Max 97.
The first of two colorways to reveal itself today, this option is significantly more reserved, opting for a heritage navy and royal nylon and suede construct that’s reminiscent of 70s trainers. There are pack-specific features like classic exposed-foam tongues, AMRC/Beaverton lateral tags, and special graphic insoles, too, as well as chrome Swoosh pins for some modern flair. A staple black, white, and blue sole units sit underfoot before a handful of lemon branding details come in to complete the design.
Pairs of these Nike Air Max 97 “Running Club” have already become available at select Swoosh stockists in Asia, and have already been loaded onto US footsites in preparation for a release soon. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below.
