For as long as one can remember, Nike has shown big love to the Asian market, from the CO.JP exclusives to the famed “Nai-Ke” series. There are the annual CNY celebrations, too, and even one-off collections like this new series that honor the duality of man. Joining what is expected to be an extensive series of themed releases is this Air Max 97 “Set to Rise”, which is expected to release alongside a matching Huarache, Air Max 90, and more this Summer.Continuing the Eastern thought of duality, the sneaker juxtaposes itself in multiple colors, textures, and finishes in complementary and interdependently, each giving rise to each other as they interrelate. Here, it’s white pastel blue mesh uppers working with overlays of white 3M reflective, yellow and orange. leathers, and supple black suedes. Though it sports a yellow dye, the tongues feature the same herringbone mesh as the upper, and employ the iconic Yin-Yang motif. The sole unit is delivered in simplistic all-white, with milky-translucent outsoles rounding out the design.

A release date for this Nike Air Max 97 and the wider “Set to Rise” collection is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the summer season.
