As one of Nike’s most popular retro lifestyle models, the Air Max 97 is always in high demand. And although the Swoosh has been busily preparing for the silhouette’s 25th anniversary this year through special-occasion releases, the brand hasn’t forgotten about its inclusion in their annual themed collections. The most prominent pack for 2022 is the Nike “Sun Club” series, and not — at long last — the Air Max 97 has joined the collection.
The first of two colorways revealed today, this pair follows the lead of the Dunks and Air Force 1s before it by employing a bevy of beautiful pastel hues tanging from bright blue on the upper, to overlays of white, pink, tan, and purple. Materials remain consistent, too, with recycled yarn filling the pair from toe to tail, as well as tumbled FlyLeather over the midfoot. Sole units remain unchanged, boasting a staple white finish popped with more hits of blue and pink, before a slew of new stitchwork floods the pair to complete the design, including outlined Swooshes at the midfoot, forefoot mini Swooshes, and Sun Club-branded rear pulls.
A release date for this multi-color Nike Air Max 97 “Sun Club” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
