As one of Nike’s most popular retro lifestyle models, the Air Max 97 is always in high demand. And although the Swoosh has been busily preparing for the silhouette’s 25th anniversary this year through special-occasion releases, the brand hasn’t forgotten about its inclusion in their annual themed collections. The most prominent pack for 2022 is the Nike “Sun Club” series, and not — at long last — the Air Max 97 has joined the collection.
The second of two colorways unveiled today, this alternate option in white, green, and gold brings a brand-new aesthetic to the series, with it’s color combination not yet seen this far. Its material makeup, though, is consistent with the collection, including a recycled yar from toe to tail, as well as tumbled FlyLeather over the midfoot. Color-wise, the pair works from a golden tan upper, before overlays of white and mid panels flood the pair. From there, grassy green work in at the mid panel, liner, and tongue badge, as well as select pops on the outsole for good measure. A slew of new stitchwork floods the pair to complete the design, including outlined Swooshes at the midfoot, forefoot mini Swooshes, and Sun Club-branded rear pulls.
A release date for this White/Green Nike Air Max 97 “Sun Club” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com soon.
