As we work deeper into the new year, options of the 25th-anniversary Air Max 97are appearing more frequently — especially as we approach the silhouette’s ever-strong Spring/Summer showing. The next to be served up appears to be part of a wider Nike Sportswear collection, with this second colorway of the Nike Air Max 97 “Vintage” the next in a series of old-school aged-look overhauls.
Clad mostly in oxidized hues, the pair looks to bones and beige for its upper, liners, and wavy overlays, with heavy vintage work applied to the sole units which look years older than the model itself. Color is introduced in bold fashion, with denim toes and tonal suede mudguards, and a streak of abstract print that’s not too dissimilar from my elementary school art teacher’s ugly sweat collection. The denim and prints reappear tat the tongue, with thick heritage-branded ribbon pulls in the rear to round out the design.
A release date for this all-new Nike Air Max 97 “Vintage” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the Spring/Summer season. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
