Though there was some initial excitement surrounding the first-ever re-release of the Nike Air Max Plus 3 in late 2019, the silhouette has stumbled. Outside of the OG reissues, it’s struggled to find consistent success. Granted, there have been some absolute bangers, but far too few of them. Thankfully for fans of the third Tuned Air, this Air Max Plus 3 “Multi-Color Gradient” selection is of a high caliber — and high saturation.
Arriving part of a wider Nike Sportswear collection for Summer 2022, the pair presents with gaudy neon gradient uppers encased in a standard black casing. Multi-color mesh uppers work from Hyper Royal at the toe to bright pinks and vibrant volt just below the collar. All of this comes sandwiched between leather guards, and high-gloss toe and heel caps. The latter is trimmed with rich reds – as is the forefoot Tuned Air branding — with white midsoles, and black outsoles sitting underfoot. Back up top, the pair is fixed with volt branding at the heel, classic Tuned Air branding on the tongue, and an added “AIR” tag on the lateral side to complete the design.
