If there’s anything the Nike Air Max Plus is known for, it’s gradients. When Sean McDowell took inspiration from palm trees during a Florida sunset, who knew just what kind of trend he’d set in motion. Though it was originally used on the mesh uppers, it’s since been used in a multitude of ways, including as an effect on its signature vein overlays or throughout its mesh upper. This next release features both, as well as the midfoot shank, in a completely monochrome mix of black, grey, and white.
The upper’s medial line starts from black, before reaching out to white at the exterior. Its other gradients work in favor of their surrounds, with cage overlays bleeding upwards from its black mudguards, and its midfoot shank working from white midsoles. What the pair lacks in color, it makes up for in texture, with hex-mesh uppers and fat tongues, to nubuck overlays and leather heel caps rounding out the design.
An official release date for the pair is still unknown, but you should expect to see this new Nike Air Max Plus hit select retailers and Nike.com soon. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
