This New Nike Air Max Plus Has Heavy Nautical Themes

With Spring about to — eh — spring, it means one thing: trainer season. And what better way to welcome in the sun than the iconic Air Max Plus — after all, it was inspired by the sunsets of South Beach. The next effort is a far cry from that, though, with a dark navy and black build struck by contrasting white and volt hues, giving an overarching nautical theme to the release.

Construction-wise, the pair retains its OG charm through mesh uppers, gradient vein overlays, translucent toe caps, and sole units true-to-the original line. Tweaks are made to the tongue — seen here in a thick, open grey mesh — but the gaudy pops of color return it to its audacious roots.

An official release date for the pair is still unknown, but you should expect to see this new nautical Nike Air Max Plus sneak into select retailers and Nike.com in the coming weeks. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account.
