You gotta give credit to Nike’s mainline colorway designers who continually reinvent the wheel when it comes to silhouettes like the Air Force 1, Air Max 97, and Air Max Plus. Neither of those is short on new colorways, with fresh new options appearing on an almost-daily basis. Now the latter returns again with a hot new “Copper Tongue” take that’s bound to get Tuned heads — and I use my Aussie slang here — frothin’
The sneaker arrives relatively simplistic in make and blocking, with a classic mesh construction done from to-to-tail in sail. Crips white midsoles serve up a striking visual break from the muted upper and soft pink rubber outsole beneath, while the inclusion of new materials adds up for an elegant finish. The rear boasts a bone suede in place of the typical leather, whilst the pair’s championing feature — it’s metallic copper tongues — add a fresh finish to the 22-year-old silhouette. Further copper accents arrive within the Air Supports and along the outsole to complete the design.
