Available Now // Nike Adds Translucent Cages to the Air Max Plus

The cult-followed Air Max Plus has continued to find new and unique ways to dress over the years, from vibrant gradients to big, bold overbranding and even some obscure crossovers like the Mercurial. The latter’s cageless appeal was unique in itself, but there was just something off about a TN1 without its overlays. This next-up release gives you the best of both worlds, with translucent TPU cage overlays that are both there and not there — and it comes atop a pretty decent color arrangement, too.

Mesh uppers of blue-to-white gradient work downwards towards a stark white mudguard and rear overlay. Midsoles are tinted in a subtle sail, while a classic black outsole and gradient midfoot shanks add some heritage appeal. Air supports arrive in a teal hue to match that found on the eyelets, while the surrounding tongue tip, liner, and Swoosh outline.s indulge in a teal-tinted navy hue. Completing the design is a bright white mesh tongue, and the aforementioned translucent finish on the toe cap and cage overlay.

An official release date for the pair is still unknown, but this clear-caged Nike Air Max Plus is likely to sneak into select retailers and Nike.com over the coming weeks.
