Available Now // Nike Air Max Plus “Emoji”

The Air Max Plus has always been a playful sneaker. Its incredible back catalog is filled with options from every corner of the color spectrum, enabling Tuned heads to alter their footwear to reflect their mood. These days, there are more precise ways to show your feelings — Emojis. And for this next release, the TN is letting you tack-on Air Max-inspired faces to its Velcro tongue.

It follows the thematic of the previously-previewed Air Max 95 and Air Max 97, and while it ushers in the same mix of purple, blue, neon, black and white, it brings with it an entirely new aesthetic. The two aforementioned Maxes are made-up in mostly white, whereas this Air Max Plus “Emoji” opts for majority black, with the accompanying colors coming in sparingly. Cages and midfoot shanks feature a blue-to-purple gradient finish, while neons are reserved for the midfoot Swooshes and rear Air supports. More purple and blue is ushered in at the eyelets and forefoot Air respectively, with text message-themed embellishments at the tongue and insole providing continuity with the rest of the collection.

An official release date for the pair is still unknown, but the Nike Air Max Plus “Emoji” is likely to sneak into select retailers and Nike.com over the coming weeks, as its already available in select markets throughout Asia.
