Nike Air Max Plus “Kiss My Airs” Takes OG Inspiration

Before Nike officially included “Kiss My Airs” into their Air Max Day 2017 campaign, it had been a long-running pun/saying amongst sneakerheads throughout the world, hitting countless bootleg t-shirts, apparel, and even doormats. It was also refreshing to see Nike put a little bit more tongue-in-cheek into their marketing efforts, which have been fairly dry since the days of the OG Presto. Now, just four years later, the brand looks to revisit the expression with a special-edition collection featuring the slogan — again likely to form part of the annual celebration of Air. After surfacing on the Air Max 95 last month, the next has appeared — this Nike Air Max Plus “Kiss My Airs” — alongside the just-previewed Air Max 90 of the same name.

Now having sighted all three pairs, it’s evident that each release honors its respective OG colorway; the Air Max 95 and the OG Neon, the Air Max 90 and its Infrared, and this Air Max Plus and its OG Hyper Blue. For the latter, the original both boast a bright blue build with piercing white and popping yellow. These take on a more ominous approach, removing whites altogether and swapping them for blacks and greys, while the gradient upper seems to be fully desaturated. The blue has now move to the midsole, while yellow Swooshes and Air supports remain true to the OG. Theme-consistent safari prints ride the thick-cut mudguards and tongue tips, while the pack’s titular tags rest just below the ankle.

A release date for the Nike Air Max Plus “Kiss My Airs” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.comsoon. If it is, in fact, a part of Nike’s annual Air Max Day celebration, you should expect to see a release arrive around March. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.

In other Air Max news, a love note-adorned Air Max 90 has appeared ahead of Valentine’s Day.
