The Air Max Plus “Magenta” Remembers the Silhouette’s Sunset Roots

Sean McDowell’s Air Max Plus remains popular throughout Europe and Australia, with Nike’s continued effort on the retro runner bolstering its stocks for the new year. Now, following a handful of recently-revealed pairs struck with striking University Blue, the Swoosh has flipped to a magnificent Magenta shade to reconnect with it’s sunset-inspired roots.

For this release, Nike started out with gradient uppers of white/magenta, encased entirely in blacks; That is, vein overlays, tongues, liners, laces, and guards. Most of the sole unit is black, too — including the Air supports — but it’s broken up by bright central whites and midfoot shanks split between sunny yellows and deep purple. Te former appears again at the midfoot Swoosh to complete the design.

An official release date for this new Air Max Plus “Magenta” is unknown, but you should expect to see it sneak into select retailers and Nike.com in the coming months.
