We’re sure that COVID stresses caused a lot of headaches for a lot of people. Amongst those in the midst of the madness, the Tokyo Olympic Games had to be postponed, leaving tens of thousands of people in limbo. On the corporate side of things, footwear brands were stuck with hoards of celebratory creations, most of which have come and gone at retailers over the past 6 months. And now, as it appears, there’s one more in the queue with the return of 2000’s Nike Air Max Plus “Olympic” — a sneaker last seen back in 2010

Donning the famed navy, red, white, and gold Olympic arrangement, the pair arrives in a fairly close spec to the original (though shape and material has changed, of course). The pair is anchored ie mesh, mudguards, and liners of navy, while red is reserved only for the eyestays, Swooshes, and new for 2021, the Air supports. Gold is worked into the gradient vein overlays, toe caps (2010 had navy), and midfoot shank; It’s also found on the outlines of the tongue and mini Swoosh branding. Midsoles arrive in a crisp white atop a navy rubber outsole, and the TN takes it a step further by including the official Team USA Track and Field logo at the insole.

With the Olympics set to kick-off on July 23rd, you would expect to see the return of the Nike Air Max Plus “Olympic” to occur soon. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
