It seems that lately, the Air Max Plus has forgone its gaudy gradients and vibrant hues in favor of some relatively reserved — even elegant — options. It’s a strange word to use with such an aggressive design, but this all-new Air Max Plus “Sashiko” is just that through the use of a refined color palette, finely tuned weaves, and heavy metallic gold accents.

The second in a Sashiko-clad series, this pair embodies all the same elements of the just-revealed opting in black and silver; canvas-like twill uppers marled black and white with a uniform crosshatch pattern, metallic finishes to the Swooshes and shanks, and unique blocking at the midsole. The overarching palette is grey in appearance, with smokey uppers matched by grey-to-black gradient vein overlays, and tonal grey toe, mudguard, and heel overlay matching the upper. White midsoles return underfoot, so do some intriguing pops of color, including vibrant red pops on the mostly-black outsole, and dark royal Air supports to complete the design.
