Toggle lacing systems seem to be the flavor of Fall 2022, with yet another silhouette joining Nike’s tug-to-tighten series: the Air Max Plus.
One of two colorways revealed today, this pair looks to monochrome grey and black for its coloring, with a simple blocking to match. But what it lacks in creative blocking, it makes up for in material and utilitarian additions. Noticeably, the pair’s cross-over lacing reaches right down to the mudguard and is fixed at the tongue’s tip by a toggle lock; But there’s more to it than that. It’s modified mesh upper houses a reflective underlayer, whilst its signature vein overlays are replaced by a subtle glazed-on print. Further tweaks are spotted on the suede guards, heel overlays, and tongue tips, with a noticeably larger Swoosh sitting at the midfoot to complete the design.
The pair is also expected to release alongside a pair in “Triple Black.”
An official release date for this new Air Max Plus is unknown, but you should expect to see it sneak into select retailers and Nike.com in the coming months. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
