Aside from its audacious colorways and its unfortunate association with drug slingers, the Air Max Plus is probably best known for its use of gradients — usually laid across its mesh upper. Often we find the signature finish elsewhere, on the midfoot shank and, less frequently, on the vein overlays, which is where this new White/Silver/Neon number employs the ombre.
Here, white mesh uppers arrive surrounded mostly by white; The tongue, laces, leather mudguards, toe caps, and sole units all don the colorless finish. Cage overlays, too, opt for white, before applying a black gradient towards the sneaker’s superior. Completing the design is a tongue and heel cap in chrome, Midfoot Swooshes outlined in Neon Green, as well as a green-to-black gradient across the midfoot shank.
An official release date for the pair is still unknown, but this new Nike Air Max Plus is likely to sneak into select retailers and Nike.com over the coming weeks. When they do hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
