OG Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 “USA” Returns March 1st

When word broke late last year that the Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 would be returning in 2020, OG colorways like the “Midnight Navy” and “USA” came to mind. As it turned out, we received two redesigned options that featured uppers embroidered in a style that matched my grandma’s curtains. To say it was a letdown is an understatement — another notch of shittiness on the belt that is 2020. But before the year is through, we have some good news for you; both of those aforementioned colorways will be returning very, very soon.

Having already released in Asia/Pacific, the Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 “USA” returns in true-to-OG styling, with the low-slung silhouette dressed in stark navy mesh side panels and pairs this with that with crisp, clean white tongues, toe boxes, heels, and rising midfoot shanks. Striking red accents are dished out across the Swoosh outlines, and “Max Air” branded hits at the tongue and heel. Down below, the sole piece which features a trio of exposed Air units pairs together white midsoles with jet black tread.

There are still a few sizes left here on Australia’s SUBTYPE as well as size runes on Nike Korea, so you can expect to see a wider release hit global and US Nike.com sites soon. Update 02.28.21 After release Down Under late last year, Euro retailers will finally be getting their Tailwind 5 fix, with the Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 “USA” scheduled for release on March 1st from the retailers listed below. At this stage, there still appears to be no Stateside release on the cards.
