Sustainable sneakers are no longer a novelty; in fact, it has become normality amongst leading footwear brands like Nike who have turned their classic models into recycled wonders. The latest Earth-friendly campaign to be kicked off by the Swoosh is their “Terrascape” series, a collection of classic Air Max silhouettes redesigned in utilitarian fashion and retooled in recycled materials lead by Nike Air Max 90 and Air Max Plus. The latter has just reappeared in a fourth colorway, one which aligns more closely to the overarching earthy themes.
Utilizing tan, beige, orange, and burgundy hues, the silhouette stays well within a warm spectrum for its fourth release. Ripstop uppers of light tan cover the entire upper, with tonal, semi-translucent caging and rear clips adding to the earthy theme — the former boasting tonal netting, too. Toe caps and liners follow suit, before a bevy of maroon finishes is ushered in across the tongue, eyestays, and outdoor-inspired rope laces. Peach-red hues hit the tongue liner, oversized profile Swooshes and midfoot shanks, before reverting to tan-tinted Crater Foam midsoles. Lastly, Grind Rubber outsoles sit underfoot to complete the design.
An official release date for the sustainable silhouette is still unknown, but you should expect to see these and other colorways of the Nike Air Max Terrascape Plus sneak into select retailers and Nike.com as we edge closer to Holiday 2021.
