1999’s Nike Air Tuned Max has finally got recognition enough to receive the retro treatment in 2021, with colorways new and old coming into the fold. Often at its best in murky, ominous colors, the silhouette shines in drab — but it’s never afraid to show a little flair here and there. Here, it does both — literally — with the Nike Air Tuned Max “Black Neon” donning dark black and grey hues against striking reflective neon pops and flashy metallic silver hits.
Set atop a simple black mesh base, the release prepares a simple dark grey cage overlay and a two-tone sole unit that carries the monochrome finish down below. Metallic silvers surround the collar in signature Tuned Max style, before a duo of striking neon pops — orange and volt — work in tandem at the toe and quarter respectively. These are not only visually striking in light, but also proffer a reflective 3M finish. Wow.
Though a release date for the Nike Air Tuned Max “Black Neon” was not officially noted, it is expected to arrive before Summer closes out. Until the official word comes though, grab a detailed look below at the pair here below.
