1999’s Nike Air Tuned Max has finally got recognition enough to receive the retro treatment in 2021, with colorways new and old coming into the fold. Often at its best in murky, ominous colors, the silhouette shines in drab. Here, it does both — literally — with the Nike Air Tuned Max “Blue Void” donning dark navy, black, shiny high-sheen patent panels and 3M reflective to boot.
Set against piercing white midsoles, the pair’s black and blue hues run rampant throughout. In fact, it’s only these two hues that appear in the remainder of the construction, with blue mesh uppers, tongues, and patent panels complimented by black cage overlays and 3M collars. Branding, laces, and liners also arrive in black, so too does the rubber tread underfoot — even the underfoot pod detail is done up in the dark pigment — to complete the design.
Though a return date for the Nike Air Tuned Max “Blue Void” was not officially noted, it is expected to arrive before 2021 closes out. Until the official word comes though, grab a detailed look below at the pair here below.
