Nike has filed a lawsuit against CLOT founder Edison Chen, seeking over $126 thousand in damages for breach of contract, not million. The original 126 Million report was due to a clerical error by the court. The $126,615.68 for "goods and services that Nike provided to Juice," a company owned by Edison Chen.
The filing, revealed by Sneaker Legal on X, was made last night in California and stems from Chen’s high-profile move from Nike to Adidas in October 2024.
Chen’s partnership with Nike spanned nearly two decades, producing some of the brand’s most sought-after collaborations. The CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” and CLOT x Air Force 1 Lows are considered modern classics, while the brand also made waves with multiple Air Jordan collaborations. Together, these projects solidified CLOT’s position as one of the most influential players in global sneaker culture.
The partnership came to an abrupt end in late 2024 when CLOT announced its switch to Adidas, launching its first wave of collaborations in early 2025. The rollout began with special-edition Superstars and has since expanded into a steady flow of projects, including the newly unveiled CLOT x Adidas AE 1.
