The Kyrie Irving signature sneaker line is about as unpredictable as the man himself. Never knowing which way he’ll turn you out on the court — nor what he’ll say off it — each signature offering that appears seemingly arrives with a completely unique thematic. From Mamba Mentality-inspired jawnsto Jordan 4 mimicking drops, Nike hasn’t had to look too far beyond its own chronicles for inspiration. Once again they return to their own archive for this “Retro Logos” Kyrie 6, and as the name suggests, it features various logos from the brand’s storied past.
If we had to pinpoint an era for the sneaker, it would be the 1980s thanks to its vibrant color palette, vintage graffiti-style embroidery on the lateral ankle, and the famed Pinwheel logo on the medial. But it’s not all set back 30 years, with Nike’s original cursive motif at the midfoot fresh from the 1970s. Construction-wise, the pair arrives pretty stock-standard save the buttery tumbled leather heel panels (last seen on his Concepts “Khepri” collab), whilst translucent midfoot straps, and white rubber outsoles complete the design.
Official images of the pair have arrived, along with a confirmed release date for June 12th, 2020. Pairs will be hitting the handful of retailers listed below for $130.
In other Nike news, official images of the Kobe 5 “Bruce Lee” have arrived, indicating a proximal release.
