Kyrie Irving and his signature sneaker line have never been shy about their influences. From throwback Kobe-inspired pairs to recently-released pairs inspired by his hometown’s connection with Hip-Hop, Irving has often paid tribute to the things he holds near and dear. And — despite rarely sharing the court — it appears that he’s already formed a strong bond with new teammate Kevin Durant. Earlier this year he delivered a Nike Kyrie 7 “Ky-D” aka “Weatherman” — a colorway directly inspired by 2011’s Nike KD 4 of the name — and now he looks to deliver a follow-up option in black as we welcome in the new year.
Utilizing the same color scheme as the 2011 release, Kyrie flips it on its head, dropping a black-and-green-based upper with sole units of striking red and neon green underfoot. The signature Weatherman print is sighted again at the rear and liner, while heat map-like outsoles sit underfoot There’s orange branding to be found, along with alternating insoles arrive to complete the design.
