It was reported back in May that Nike would not extend Kyrie Irving’s contract beyond the 2022/23 season. Likely due to the circus surrounding his off-court antics — and perhaps his long absences on the court — the Swoosh have said enough is enough. But with one year left on the ticket — and with pairs already designed and in production — you can expect to see one final Nike Kyrie model hit shelves before the partnership comes to an end. Now, a first look at said shoe, the Nike Kyrie 8, has appeared ahead of the new NBA season, and it brings with it an entirely new design language to the series.
Featuring a sustainably-focused construct, a completely new traction pattern, and Zoom Air Strobel technology, the design is almost unrecognizable to the series; the only thing that truly links back to its predecessors is the low-mid cut, heel shape, and, of course, the slew of Kyrie Irving motifs splayed throughout.
Currently, the new model is currently expected to release on November 11th, with this specific colorway of White/University Red/Black/Wolf Grey expected for November 24th.
