LeBron James continues to dominate the hardwood, working in-tandem with his Los Angeles Lakers squad for a favorable position in the 2024-25 NBA Playoffs. And while the kid from Akron is sure to unveil special Player-Exclusives on-court to commemorate his next postseason run, he's treating fans to a retail drop of the Nike LeBron 22 'Frozen Grapes.'

While a peculiar nickname for a basketball shoe, the pair is clad in an appropriate 'Soft Pearl/Vivid Purple/Court Purple/Hyper Turquoise' color scheme. (A similar style has appeared on the iconic Air Jordan 5 'Grape', which sees a retro in June.) It's very likely that the playful moniker references a common snack eaten in the James household—specifically by Bronny, a public fan of frozen cotton candy grapes.

The aforementioned color scheme takes over the mixed materials upper and tried-and-proven tooling, animating laces, midsole foam, and branding hits. Akin to other styles from the Nike LeBron series, the 'Frozen Grapes' makeover brings an asymmetrical layout to James' 22nd signature shoe. The right foot's sneaker dons a rather straightforward lateral side, while graffiti-reminiscent text takes over the medial profile; the left shoe flips the script, rocking shades of 'Vivid Purple/Court Purple' in a wild presentation. A cool 'Hyper Turquoise' outlines the large lateral swooshes, laces, and other details—including a pair-specific Bron emblem on the midsole and footbed.

Currently, DICK'S Sporting Goods has the 'Frozen Grapes' pair as launching on Tuesday, April 1. The colorful LeBron 22 should also hit Nike.com on or around the same day for $180. While you wait, enjoy official photos of the asymmetrical pair below.
